Lupita Nyong'o to star in and produce big-screen adaptation of Chimamanda Adiche's award-winning novel Americanah
Kenyan beauty and Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyongó revealed on Thursday that she's acquired the rights to adapt the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie novel Americanah into a film, which she will both star in and produce.
She happily announced it on instagram and shared a photo [below]
Lupita will once again team up with 12 Years A Slave co-star Brad Pitt, whose production company, Plan B, is also onboard, along with D2 Productions and Potboiler Productions.
The epic love story tells the tale of young Nigerians Ifemelu and Obinze, whose romance is tested when Ifemelu emigrates to America to get a university education while her boyfriend winds up in London.
They face the toughest decision of their lives when they are later reunited in their homeland.
So buckle up ladies and gentlemen because Lupita is coming to town.
