Must Read!!! Six DIY Ways To Cure An Irritated Skin

I was surfing the web as usual and I saw some DIY (do it yourself) tips to cure an irritated skin. And thought to share.

To soften skin:
Coconut oil isn't just for cooking—it's great for soothing dry skin, sore nipples from breast-feeding, and diaper rash; moisturizing hair; and pouring in the tub for a skin-softening bath. It's so versatile—I love it! —Kara Justin Brandel

To relieve a burn:
Lavender oil really takes the sting out of a burn. Follow up with aloe. —Varada Veum

To stop an itch:
Raw potatoes relieve itching, insect bites, and burns. Slice and place on the affected area.

To soothe skin:
I frequently use witch hazel on my skin. I find it so soothing. —Glynis Buschmann

To prevent blisters:
A trick I learned in cooking school: Never put ice on a burn--it will blister. Apply cool water instead.
—Cynthia McCloud Woodman

To heal hives:
Soak in an oatmeal bath to relieve hives and itching. [Derm tip: Oatmeal also calms itching associated with sunburn.] —Cindy Rentler Noe
