Prince Releasing Two New Albums "Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum" in September

Purple Rain Crooner, Prince announced some big news on Monday, Aug. 25, publicizing his plans to release not one, but two new albums of all-new material.

While the legendary musician, 56, debuted his EP The Breakfast Experience in October 2013, these two studio albums will be his first since 2010's 20Ten.

The famed performer will be debuting Art Official Age, a solo album of Prince's classic funk sound. His second project, Plectrumelectrum, will be under the 3RDEYEGIRL band with Prince.

3RDEYEGIRL is a three-part female band, made up of drummer Hannah Ford, guitar player Donna Grantis, and Ida Nielsen on the bass. The "Batdance" performer has worked with 3RDEYEGIRL, and also used the band's name as a pseudonym.
