Turns out trouble always seem to find Chris brown these days, just recently he was around suge knight when he was short and now his Fashion Week after-party at a Meatpacking District hot spot turned ugly when a clubgoer smashed a bottle and left another man with a gash in his eye Thursday, sources said.
The R&B singer had arrived at VIP Room with a crew of five friends at around 1:30 a.m., and the posse settled in near the DJ booth, the sources said.
Across the room, a female patron bumped into a waitress carrying drinks at around 2:45 a.m., spilling booze all over the server, according to witnesses.
A club host stepped in, and a male partier attempted to douse him with beer, a source said.
But the bottle slipped out of his hand and shattered — and a glass fragment nicked Robert Lee, 28, of North Carolina, in the left eye.
“Security promptly removed the patron who had been holding the beer bottle from the club,” VIP spokesman R. Couri Hay said.
Lee took himself to New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where staff alerted cops to the incident, law-enforcement sources said.
Lee’s buddy, who identified himself only as John, said his “groggy” pal had gone in for surgery Thursday afternoon. He couldn’t give specifics on Lee’s condition.
“He was an innocent bystander,” John said, adding he was told, “Bottles and glasses were flying.”
No arrests have been made. Police will review security video.
The Grammy winner confirmed on Twitter Thursday that he wasn’t involved in the scuffle.
“There was no brawl involving me or anyone from my camp last night at VIP room,” he tweeted. “The devil is in full effect at all times. God is the way.”
Brown, 25, and his friends stayed at VIP until around 3 a.m., a witness said.
A Brown rep confirmed he was at the club and said the fight broke out on the other side of the venue between patrons not in his group.
The singer was in a brawl with rapper Drake sometime in 2012 in Soho club Wip.
