‘Chicago Fire’ actress killed while biking in storm
Molly Glynn, who played an ER doctor on several episodes of “Chicago Fire,” was fatally injured in a biking accident on Friday, her husband, Joe Foust, revealed on Facebook.
“Friends, this is the darkest day of my life,” he wrote Friday evening. “Thing will never be the same. Molly got hit by a falling tree while we were biking. At hospital now. Prognosis is grim.”
By Saturday morning, the 46-year-old actress had died from her injuries. Foust conveyed his emotions with three short sentences on Facebook. “I couldn’t save her. I couldn’t save her. She’s gone,” he wrote.
Us Weekly reports the couple were biking through Chicago’s Erickson Woods area when they were caught in a storm. A tree was uprooted and crashed into Glynn. She was taken to Evanston Hospital.
Friends of the couple established a Give Forward campaign for Foust and their two children to ease the financial burden. “I really couldn’t see how I could go forward, and this helped ease the burden,” said Foust about the campaign, which has raised $121,563 as of Monday morning. “We always got by, by the seat of our pants. I had less than 70 bucks in the bank. No idea how to pay what would double all my bills. So grateful for the assistance.”
On Sunday night, Foust posted a picture of himself wearing his and his wife’s wedding rings. “Preparing to say final goodbye before she goes off to surgery to donate her organs,” shared Foust. “I know it’s just a shell now, but I’ve grown used to the comfort of her body here in this room. Be kind. Love hard. Remember.”
