[PHOTOS] JFK and Jackie Kennedy wedding photographs up for auction

Never before published wedding photos of John and Jackie Kennedy are up for sale through Boston-based auction house RR Auction this month.

Freelance photographer Arthur Burges was hired to cover the fabled Kennedy wedding in September 1953 as a backup photographer; Life magazine covered the iconic event.

Burges died in 1993, and his family discovered the never before seen footage of the Kennedy wedding. continue for more.................
Thirteen pristine 3.75″ x 5″ negatives of the newlyweds from the reception in Newport, Rhode Island are included in the lot, including four images of the couple alone and others including family members Bobby Kennedy, Joe Kennedy and reception guests. Additionally, 5×4 prints of each negative are also included, the first prints to be made from the negatives.

RR Auction vice president Bobby Livingston expects the photos to be purchased for thousands of dollars.

Also up for sale: a holiday card written right before Kennedy’s 1963 assassination in Dallas.
