The real reason Justin said that he was single on Instagram was because of Selena. Word got back to him that she was a complete mess at Taylor Swift‘s birthday party. He heard that she was missing him and going on and on about Hailey

This came three days after Selena allegedly had a crying fit at Taylor’s 25th birthday party.
While standing on the upper terrace of the “Blank Space” singer’s Tribeca apartment, “[Selena] shouted, ‘No one understands me! My boyfriend doesn’t even understand me,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that partygoers, including Sam Smith “just stared [at her].”
Apparently, Justin got wind of this and felt really bad. He doesn’t want to see Selena upset, so he made a huge declaration, saying he’s “single.
