Kristin Cavallari’s brother found dead

So sad and tragic.

Former "Hills" star, Kristin Cavallari‘s older brother Michael has been found dead almost two weeks after he went missing.
“We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time,” Kristin said in a statement to E! News. “We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”
Utah authorities had been furiously searching for Michael after his 2014 Honda Civic was found abandoned on Nov. 27 in Grand County, Utah. A rancher found the car with the engine on and the airbag deployed.

On Thursday, the Grand County Sheriff’s Department said search crews had located remains believed to be those of Michael’s at 10:30 a.m. in the Salt Wash area. The terrain where the body was found was in a “steep and very rocky area,” according to authorities.
“At this time, the body is being transported to the Office of the Utah Medical Examiner for positive identification and to determine the cause of death,” the statement read.

Authorities revealed earlier this week that Michael, who was 30, had been arrested in Southern California on Nov. 23 — just days before he went missing — on an allegation of making threats.

According to police reports, he was arrested after a woman called authorities to report that he was standing outside her apartment with a shotgun. The woman said that the two had argued two days prior and he kept returning to her apartment. He was taken into custody where he denied doing anything to the woman.

Kristin, who recently welcomed her third child with NFL pro husband Jay Cutler, took to Instagram on Thursday after news broke of her brother’s death.
“My heart is in a million pieces,” Kristin, 28, wrote alongside a childhood photo of her and Michael. “Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I’m at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP.”

May God give his family the fortitude to bear their loss.
