Rapper, Nicki Minaj Bails Out Her Brother Charged With Raping A 12-year-old

 
Following earlier reports that rapper Nicki Minaj's elder brother, Jelani Maraj, 37, was charged with raping a 12 year old, she (Nicki) is standing right by him as she posted his bail spending up the $100,000 bond that got Jelani released from custody in Nassau County on Friday,

Jelani was accused of first-degree rape and first-degree sexual conduct against the preteen.

Nicki will be responsible for the fees associated with securing the the bond, typically 6 percent to 10 percent of the bond amount, or $6,000 to $10,000.
Had the bail been higher — and Nassau prosecutors had asked for $500,000 — Minaj was ready to offer a letter of credit from a California bank account worth in excess of $2 million, According to pagesix.

The bail was handled by celebrity bail bondsman Ira Judelson, according to court papers. Judelson’s cases include Dominique Straus Kahn’s $6 million bail bond, and the bonds for Plaxico Buress, Lil Wayne and Kat Williams.

Judelson declined to comment on the Maraj case, as did defense lawyers Ben Brafman and Andrea Zellan.

I hope that for her sake he is innocent, because all of this would have been for nothing.
