Super Rich Queen Bey: Beyonce Tops Forbes Celebrity 100 List, Beats Jay Z and Oprah Winfrey
Yes yes yes yáll there is a queen sitting pretty on the number one spot in forbes list. Holla!
Beyonce has been declaring her reigning queen status for years in her fierce hits including “Diva,” “Flawless,” and “Run the World (Girls),” but now Forbes has confirmed that Queen Bey is, indeed, on top.
Forbes explained the pick, noting that her mega Mrs. Carter Show World Tour brought in about $2.4 million for each of the 95 shows, and that her surprise, self-titled fifth studio album broke sales records on iTunes after no promotion.
endorsement deals with major companies like H&M and Pepsi, her fragrance lines, and her clothing company House of Dereon. The magazine went on to estimate that the superstar earned $115 million in the last year—and that’s before sales from On the Run tour with Jay Z were tallied.
Bey bumped mogul Oprah Winfrey from the the top spot, which she held in 2013. Now the leader of a TV and magazine empire holds the fourth spot on the list, earning an estimated $82 million in the past year.
Basketball pro LeBron James holds the number two spot, rapper and headphone aficionado Dr. Dre is in number 3, Ellen DeGeneres nabbed number 5, Jay Z came in at number 6, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was number 7, Rihanna landed the number 8 spot, pop princess Katy Perry was number 9, and Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr. rounded out the top 10. The Hunger Games’ Jennifer Lawrence nabbed the number 12 spot, this year’s Super Bowl performer Bruno Mars came in at number 13, wild child Miley Cyrus was number 17, and country/pop crossover star Taylor Swift hit the number 18 spot.
