Ice-T and Coco’s neighbors fed up with construction - Report

According to pagesix, Ice T and his buxom wife Coco Austin might not get a warm welcome from neighbors when they move into their Edgewater, NJ, home. The couple have been doing construction on their new home for years — installing an infinity pool, glass elevator and a colossal closet for Coco — and the community is getting fed up.

We’re told that the couple went into contract on the home and an identical property next door for $2.1 million each at the beginning of 2012, after both properties had already been under construction for a year. Instead of finishing up quickly, the rapper and his wife, who do not yet live in the home, have continued redeveloping it.

“Three years the construction has being going on, things have been changed over and over, they build something, change their minds and take it apart,” says a neighbor. “Everybody is resigned to the fact it will never end.” Another source says, “People are just getting construction fatigue. There’s a constant flow of trucks and noise.”

An insider tells us the “Law & Order” actor and Coco are building an infinity pool, which overlooks the Hudson. Another source speculates an entire floor is being converted to a closet for Coco, a glass elevator has been fitted and it’s rumored one of the homes will function as a guesthouse.

“I’ve seen, like everyone else, how long it’s been taking,” says real estate agent Matthew Perasso, who has listings in the area. “I’m looking forward to the finished product. We’ve been waiting so long.”

The couple’s real estate agent, Avenue Residential’s Kristin Ehrgott, tells us they’re close to final inspection and should be done by the end of the year. “The main reason it took so long is they changed the original construction a lot, so that required permits that took a long time to issue,” she explained. “Through the winter they can’t dig . . . The delay was mostly because of the timing of the permits and when the work started.”

Ehrgott says the garage has had lifts put into it so it fits six cars, and a glass elevator has been installed. She also confirmed that a bedroom and bathroom were ripped out so Coco, famed for her tiny outfits, has plenty of closet space.
