INTERNATIONALS: CAHILL AND TORRES SCORE IN FRIENDLY WINS

Both Gary Cahill and Fernando Torres scored as preparations for the World Cup continue.

Cahill scored for England in their final friendly on home soil before this summer's showpiece in Brazil. It is his second international goal, and his first at Wembley.

Our defender expertly headed home Leighton Baines's second-half corner to double England's advantage against Peru. Daniel Sturridge had opened the scoring in the first half with a curled shot from outside the box.

The victory was completed by Cahill's centre-back partner, Phil Jagielka, who slotted home from another corner after Cahill had put pressure on the Peru goalkeeper.

Frank Lampard was an unused substitute. England travel to America to complete their preparation for this summer's showpiece, which includes friendlies against Ecuador and Honduras, before their first game against Italy on 14 June.

Dominic Solanke and Izzy Brown, members of England's Under-17 European Championship-winning squad, paraded that trophy around Wembley with their team-mates at half-time.

Spain's friendly with Bolivia in Seville was goalless until Fernando Torres converted a penalty, straight down the middle, awarded for a foul on Javi Martinez five minutes after the interval. Torres and Cesar Azpilicueta both began for Spain, and both players had chances to score.

Azpilicueta flashed a first-half chance just wide and hit the side netting late on, while Torres tested the Bolivian keeper early on and chipped over moments after scoring. The striker was replaced with 62 minutes played.

Andres Iniesta crashed in a late second for the World and European champions, with Azpilicueta impressing at right-back throughout.
