Chuck Bass has finally let Blair Waldorf go. After six seasons of professing his love for Leighton Meester on television, Gossip Girl costar Ed Westwick had nothing but kind words for his on-screen love interest after her secret wedding to O.C. star Adam Brody.
Westwick, 26, attended the GREAT British Film Reception in Hancock Park on March 1, where he told Us Weekly that he sent Meester, 27, a congratulatory text upon hearing the news of her marriage.
The new wedded couple are shown below....
And though he was surprised by the quick engagement, he continued, "It's not my life. I love her. I think she's fantastic, and she's a good friend of mine. And whatever she does I wish her all the best."
Westwick and Meester never dated in real life, but the British star was linked to fellow Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr, who played Dan Humphrey's friend Vanessa.
